Yum

It began like this:

And ended like this:

Organic spelt "crawly noodles" with Italian pork meatballs, my specialty pasta sauce, and ricotta cheese made with milk from my own goats. The meat came from our Amish neighbors, so the only ingredient that came from "afar" was the pasta.

The whole assemblage was mighty yummy. If I do say so myself.

  1. Excuse me Mrs. Rosie Kate, but that is one good looking plate of food! Yum! And your very own cheese?!? How exciting!

  2. A true "Locavore."

Are all those peppers from your garden?? Yellow ones?

  3. In the bowl is chunked-up tomatoes. I have both red and yellow (my favorite variety in the whole wide world is called "Pineapple" and is a huge yellow tomato streaked with red inside when it's fully ripe. The flavor is amazing!).

Mandi-- Thanks! And yeah, I've been making lots of cheese. We're getting a gallon and a half of milk per day, so I have to use it up! We're all addicted to drained yogurt, and I've been making tons of mozzarella, feta and ricotta.
