I gave Jonah an impromptu quiz this morning. We've been reading, talking, and generally obsessing about the solar system lately, so I decided to see what facts he's got in his head. He mainly asks me the questions (all day, every day...) so I turned the tables on him.
He. blows. my. mind.
ReplyDeleteLOVE IT!
These young whipper snappers. When I was your age, Pluto was the smallest planet. We didn't ask why, and we liked it that way! Then along comes the RIAA. No, wait. The RAS, declaring that Pluto was a planetoid. Sounds like a hemorrhoid to me. No wait. That would be the moon of Ur... well anyway...
ReplyDeleteWell now, Pluto is a "dwarf planet" along with Ceres, Eris and several other small round objects.
ReplyDeleteI would think that with all the civil rights and such, dwarf planets would prefer to be called "little planets", but still be planets like everyone else.
