Dog Days

These children have a miserable childhood. Seriously. They're deprived and neglected and expected to work from sun-up to sun-down. That's why they're brought into this world. Free labor.

Especially in the summertime. As soon as they're out of bed in the morning, they slurp up their gruel and head out to work in the fields. That's their livelihood. To help bring in the harvest so the family doesn't starve in the winter.

It's nothing but work, work, work, all the time. Children are expected to be useful from the time they can stand up and hold a tool in hand. Life is about work, not fun.

Of course, they only get to play and have fun after they help snap beans!

  1. You sound like a mom...
What happened to you man? YOu used to be so cool.

And to answer your question, I'm leaving Friday morning, 6 AM GMT +1, or like midnight for you. I get to SF 1PM Fraday PST. I'm not going to begin to figure out the logistics of that...
I love that our blogs are communication devices. "Hey dude, isn't it easier to just send an email?"
