Turf Wars

A friend of mine gave me six Speckled Sussex chickens. We've added them in with our seven Bantam Black Silkies. Nobody's very happy about this arrangement (and lack of escape due to snow).




This tough guy didn't want to show his face...





...because he'd have to admit to having been beaten by a banty. Note the blood and swollen eye.




"Oh the shame!"




This brotha is smart enough to know better than to pick on a little guy.




The banties are currently in hiding, concentrating their defenses (they've shed more than a little blood themselves), and so refused to make a statement.
